A Speeder software is supposed to be able to reduce or increase the speed of your Windows system and/or of your Windows applications. It should make your PC games run up to 256 times faster or slower. There is a slider on the user interface which you can adjust, in order to set the speed of your applications.
My current operating system is Windows XP with Service Pack 2. I tested all the games that are installed by Windows: Solitaire, Hearts, FreeCell, Pinball, but none of them seemed to work. I had to adjust the speed before starting these games, because if I moved the speed slider afterwards, they all stopped unexpectedly. I was not convinced, so I decided to give it another try. I downloaded “Feelers”, which is an arcade shooter, and tried to make it run slower. I didn’t have any luck. The game’s speed wasn’t at all affected by A Speeder.
Maybe on an older operating system, like Windows 98 or Windows ME, this program works better. The publisher states, however, that this program is Windows XP compliant, but as my tests show, it isn’t.
